Tours

We love it when people come to visit, to have a look at what we’ve done. Our aim is for you to leave with lots to think about and discuss, to be inspired. Amongst those that have come to visit are students, home renovators, those planning to buy or build a home, architects, builders, city planners, workplace and community groups, anyone really.

Sustainable House Day Logos 6Sustainable House Day

Once a year we open our doors, for free, as part of Sustainable House Day. Date is normally the second Sunday in September.

This unique event is a valuable resource for anyone looking for inspiration, ideas and the key to sustainable living. On the day you have the opportunity to tour some of Australia’s most environmentally progressive homes, an amazing array of everyday Australian homes all built and created around the ideal of reducing their footprint on the earth. You can tap into local knowledge from homeowners, sponsors and local sustainable groups to learn how to successfully integrate renewable energy, recycling, and other sustainable practices into your home and lifestyle.

If you don’t want to wait for next Sustainable House Day or simply would like to make arrangements for your own group, no matter how small, simply get in touch. We can be flexible to accommodate your preferred date and time, and would love to know whether there are any particular areas of interest or curriculum needs for school or tertiary students. Generally we prefer smaller groups of 10-15 people.

We have conducted many tours for free (and still will from time to time), simply because we love what we do, but we would be grateful if you can provide some financial consideration as an appreciation of us generously sharing with your our knowledge, experience and time (and preparing the house beforehand…).

Part of the tour will be outside, strolling through the gardens and of course the community garden next door. Also, if you would like to climb the pull down ladder to have a look at the attic spaces, high heels may not be a great idea.

Just give us a call or send us an email to discuss further details, we love to hear from you.
